“Search for Missing MH370 Continues Without Breakthroughs”

Date:

A dozen years have passed since Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 vanished with 239 people on board, but a recent deep-sea search in the southern Indian Ocean has not yielded any results. Malaysian authorities confirmed that the aircraft has not been found yet, while families of the victims urged the search mission to continue.

The Air Accident Investigation Bureau reported that a seabed operation conducted by Ocean Infinity from March 2025 to January 2026 covered thousands of square kilometers of the ocean floor but did not discover any confirmed debris from the aircraft. Malaysia approved the Texas-based company to resume the search for Flight 370 in a new 15,000-square-kilometer area in the southern Indian Ocean, offering a reward of $70 million if wreckage is located.

The search operation took place over 28 days in two phases, encountering challenges from adverse weather conditions. Despite the efforts, no findings confirming the location of the aircraft wreckage were reported. The Boeing 777 aircraft disappeared in 2014 shortly after takeoff, deviating from its planned route towards the southern Indian Ocean.

Voice 370, representing the families of the passengers, called for an extension of Ocean Infinity’s agreement and exploring similar partnerships with other deep-sea exploration companies. However, due to upcoming adverse weather conditions, the company’s vessel is unlikely to return soon to complete the search areas.

The group remains determined to seek answers and vowed to persevere in their quest for closure.
