“Father Claims Daughter Burned at McDonald’s”

Date:

A father in Singapore has alleged that his three-year-old daughter suffered a burned tongue after mistakenly being handed extremely hot water at a local McDonald’s. The incident, shared by retired Singaporean footballer Ridhuan Muhammad on Instagram, occurred when a McDonald’s employee served scalding water into the girl’s insulated bottle, causing her injuries. The child experienced difficulty eating and drinking following the incident and was traumatized by the sight of her water bottle.

Muhammad recounted the event, explaining that he had requested cold water for his daughter, but there was no verbal warning when the bottle was returned to him. Despite accepting some responsibility for not double-checking the bottle, Muhammad emphasized the negligence of the McDonald’s staff. McDonald’s acknowledged the incident, attributing it to a misunderstanding during service and pledged to review and enhance their procedures for handling hot items to prevent similar mishaps in the future.

In response to the situation, the McDonald’s spokesperson and branch manager reached out to Muhammad to inquire about his daughter’s well-being and offered support. As a gesture of goodwill, the family received ten ‘Be our Guest’ cards for complimentary menu items. The incident has sparked discussions on the importance of clear communication and safety protocols in food service establishments.
