“Wolf Pack Gang Sentenced to 73+ Years”

Date:

In the early morning of August 14, 2023, a security guard at Magaluf’s BH Mallorca Resort stumbled upon a distressing sight. An 18-year-old girl had fallen victim to a brutal gang rape by a group known as the “wolf pack,” consisting of seven French men and one Swiss national. This group, accused of aiming to humiliate and violate the British teenager, eventually agreed to plea deals just before their trial, resulting in a combined prison sentence of over 73 years to avoid a potential 150-year jail term.

During the investigation, shocking details of the 30-minute assault emerged. Despite their arrests, all eight men, aged between 18 and 26 at the time, refused to cooperate with law enforcement, maintaining their silence during questioning and court proceedings. Disturbing videos captured by the group highlighted the victim’s traumatic experience, which took place in close proximity to Magaluf’s popular party area.

The incident was discovered around 5 am by a hotel security guard who found the distraught teenager in the lobby. Prompt police intervention followed, with the victim receiving immediate medical care and counseling. Medical examination revealed signs of physical trauma on the survivor’s body, indicating the severity of the assault. The perpetrators were later identified through the incriminating footage they recorded on their mobile phones.

The culprits, including Khalil Abderrahmen Mejbri, Romain Charles Michel Galatioto, Anthony Guy Gerard Wengler, Haiaiel Ngandjeu Sjamen Tchatchou, Thomas Eric Coretin Wisniewski, Satilmis Sahan, Anthony Auque, and Mouhamadou Wade, were implicated in various acts of sexual assault against the victim. Mejbri and Wisniewski faced a nine-year prison term, while Wengler, Tchatchou, and Galatioto received 11-year sentences for similar offenses. Sahan admitted to a crime of sexual assault without penetration, resulting in a four-year sentence.

Apart from the sexual offenders, Auque and Wade, who were involved in filming the assault, were also sentenced to two years and three months in prison. Bail was granted to Sahan, Auque, and Wade prior to the trial, while the convicted men were ordered to compensate the survivor with over €100,000 (£86,000).

Some members of the group may avoid returning to prison due to time served on remand, while others remain incarcerated pending further legal proceedings. The defense lawyers are expected to seek their release after serving a portion of their sentences during an upcoming court hearing.
