The partner of a young British man critically injured in a serious accident while on vacation has assured him of her unwavering support as she heads to Thailand to be by his side.
Zak Forsyth, a 21-year-old from Huyton, Merseyside, was involved in a tragic incident while holidaying with friends. His girlfriend, Amy Ekin, confirmed that Zak was riding a scooter back from an outing, completely sober, when the crash occurred.
Following the accident, Zak sustained severe injuries, including a brain hemorrhage, a fractured nose, jaw, ankle, and arm. He is currently in a coma, and his family is facing the burden of covering all medical expenses and treatment costs since Zak did not have any insurance during his trip.
Despite undergoing surgery, more financial support is required for Zak’s ongoing care. Amy disclosed, “We’ve already paid a £5,000 deposit for his surgery, and he remains in a coma. We’ve initiated a fundraiser and are seeking as much assistance as possible at this crucial time.”
The fundraiser aims to raise £20,000, and the donations have already exceeded £18,000 for Zak’s medical care. Amy, a hairstylist from Prescot, Merseyside, is set to fly to Thailand on Monday to stand by Zak’s side until he can return home with her.
In an emotional statement to the Daily Mail, Amy expressed her dedication, stating, “I won’t return home until he comes back with me. Even if it means staying there for months until he can travel back, I will do it.” She emphasized the impact of the situation on their lives, emphasizing her deep concern for Zak’s well-being.
Zak’s mother, Mel McCourt, stressed the importance of community support in bringing Zak back home. Amy shared on her Instagram page, “This unexpected tragedy has turned our lives upside down. Time is of the essence, and we are focused on providing Zak with the best possible care and support during this challenging period.”
