A man from the UK passed away while his girlfriend faced multiple resuscitations after suspecting their drinks were tampered with during their vacation. Tom Pardhy, 38, an event organizer, and his partner Naomi Raksha, 31, were on an extended stay in Thailand when the tragic incident occurred in Bangkok on March 6. Naomi’s mother, Heather Brown, disclosed on Facebook that the couple had been given spiked beverages in Bangkok.
Following the ordeal, Naomi was swiftly transported to the hospital in a blue tuk-tuk and subsequently placed on life support in the ICU due to poisoning, enduring a subsequent cardiac arrest. Meanwhile, Tom was discovered unresponsive approximately 24 hours later, as detailed on a GoFundMe page arranged by Naomi’s brother, Jonathan.
Tom, a prominent figure in London’s music industry, had a notable career working at various festivals and events. His untimely demise was confirmed on March 11 through an Instagram post signed by Naomi, his mother Joanna, and sister Alex, expressing deep sorrow over his sudden passing in Bangkok.
In a heartfelt statement, the family described Tom as a shining light within his community and beyond, extending sympathies to his numerous friends and acquaintances. They mentioned plans for a commemorative event to celebrate Tom’s life, withholding specific details about the circumstances of his death out of respect for privacy.
Naomi, in a separate post, honored Tom as her greatest supporter, emphasizing the profound love they shared. She recounted her near-death experience on March 6, revealing how she defied the odds of survival and paid tribute to Tom for saving her life. Naomi acknowledged her emotional journey, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support received during her recovery at a rehabilitation facility.
The family anticipates a cremation service for Tom at a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) providing assistance to the bereaved family and coordinating with local authorities.
