Rocker Suzi Quatro, at the age of 75, recently passed her driving test and marked the occasion with Champagne and a frozen pizza. Suzi, who had been driving in the UK on a US license since moving there in 1971, expressed her relief and joy at passing the test. She mentioned getting only a few minor faults and humorously noted that at her age, it was quite an accomplishment.
Speaking from her residence in Chelmsford, Essex, where she lives with her husband, concert promoter Rainer Haas, Suzi shared her excitement about the achievement. She explained that her husband was proud and had informed friends worldwide about her success. Suzi, known for selling millions of records and upcoming album release “Freedom” on March 27, took her driving test in Clacton-on-Sea.
After passing the test, Suzi celebrated with a glass of Moet & Chandon and a cheese pizza, emphasizing the newfound freedom of being able to go out alone without being chaperoned. She revealed her surprise at discovering that her American license was not valid in the UK and the necessity of obtaining a British license due to recent changes in US laws.
Looking ahead to her upcoming UK tour, Suzi reflected on her driving test experience, joking about burning her L plates and the examiner’s reaction to her famous name. She proudly stated that becoming a British citizen, passing her driving test, and preparing for her new album and tour have made this year remarkable for her.
