A young trainee nurse, Claudia Jaczyk, aged 23, tragically passed away following a car collision with a bus on Ballyrobin Road near Belfast International Airport. The incident occurred around 8 am on Saturday, resulting in serious but non-life-threatening injuries to the bus driver. Claudia, a former student of Glengormley Integrated Primary School and Ballyclare Secondary School, had recently embarked on her nursing studies.
A fundraiser has been initiated to aid Claudia’s family in traveling from Poland and assisting with funeral expenses. Described as a compassionate and ambitious individual with a fervent desire to assist others, Claudia’s untimely demise has deeply affected her community.
Expressing condolences, SDLP South Antrim Councillor Roisin Lynch labeled Claudia’s death as another tragic incident on the roads. Lynch extended sympathies to Claudia’s family and friends, emphasizing the devastating impact of losing a young life. The councillor also wished for the bus driver’s swift recovery and appealed to the community for support.
