A video captured the moment when a former female probation officer was seen kissing her convicted murderer partner during a prison visit. Bethany Dent-Reynolds was recently sentenced due to her inappropriate romantic involvement with Kieran Robinson, whom she met at HMP Belmarsh, the UK’s highest-security prison.
Robinson, along with his cousin, received 23-year sentences for the murder of a teenager in South London in 2020. Despite Robinson’s transfer to HMP Lowdham Grange in Nottinghamshire, Dent-Reynolds continued visiting him, with surveillance footage showing the couple embracing and kissing on sofas at the facility.
During a court appearance at Woolwich Crown Court, Dent-Reynolds admitted to misconduct in a public office for her relationship with Robinson. She was sentenced to eight months in prison for her actions. The charge detailed the inappropriate relationship between Dent-Reynolds and Robinson from February 15, 2024, to May 3, 2024.
Although she denied a second misconduct charge related to another romantic connection with Robinson, Dent-Reynolds pleaded guilty to the initial charge involving the almost three-month affair. Furthermore, she refuted a third charge under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, which was eventually set aside.
The incident sheds light on the consequences of breaching professional conduct standards within the criminal justice system.
