Passengers were compelled to evacuate a bus when it suddenly caught fire during its journey, prompting the dispatch of two fire engines to extinguish the flames.
Disturbing videos captured the rear of the double-decker bus engulfed in fire in the north-west area of London. Stranded travelers looked on in shock as thick smoke billowed from the upper deck of the vehicle. Two fire engines quickly arrived at the location to douse the fire, although passengers had already been safely removed.
An inquiry is currently in progress to ascertain the cause of the fire. The incident occurred around 7pm on a Sunday, leading the bus to halt on Kilburn Lane.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed that no injuries were reported. The road was closed as firefighters rushed to the scene at 7:13 pm. By 7:42 pm, the fire had been completely extinguished.
A spokesperson from the London Fire Brigade stated, “Yesterday (15 February), we responded to a double-decker bus on fire on Kilburn Lane, W8. Upon arrival, the bus had already been evacuated safely.”
“There were no reports of any injuries, and two fire engines were present at the scene.”
