“Scottish Crime Syndicate Leader Steven Lyons Arrested in Bali”

Date:

Glasgow crime syndicate leader, Steven Lyons, was captured in a striking orange prison outfit while being escorted by Bali law enforcement officials, his hands bound with cables. Lyons, a prominent figure in Scotland’s underworld, was apprehended upon arrival at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport from Singapore shortly after being deported from Qatar. Bali police detained the 45-year-old after identifying him as a suspected chief of an international criminal group.

The arrest warrant for Lyons is believed to have originated from Spain’s Guardia Civil. According to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Lyons is strongly suspected of heading an international criminal network, allegedly orchestrating various fictitious businesses and engaging in money laundering activities.

New images depict Lyons visibly agitated as he is escorted by officers at the Bali police headquarters in Denpasar, with plans for his extradition to Spain underway. Concurrently, Lyons’ partner, Amanda Lyons, was apprehended in Dubai on the same day. The couple faces charges related to offenses reportedly committed in Spain.

Lyons leads the Lyons clan, which hails from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, and has been embroiled in a lengthy feud with the rival Daniel group from Glasgow for over two decades. Bugie Kurniawan, head of the office, emphasized that Indonesia will not harbor international fugitives, reiterating the country’s commitment to law enforcement.

Felucia Sengky Ratna, head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Bali, applauded the effective and coordinated surveillance that led to Lyons’ arrest, showcasing Bali’s responsiveness to transnational threats. Scottish authorities confirmed Lyons’ arrest, stating collaboration with European agencies in the ongoing investigation.

Lyons had sought refuge in Indonesia following his deportation from Qatar, according to reports from the Daily Record. The crime boss, who had relocated to Dubai from Scotland in 2006, was expelled from the UAE in September after widespread media coverage of his activities. Alongside Lyon, Ross McGill, Steven Larwood, and another individual, unnamed for legal reasons, were also instructed to leave the UAE.
