Iran’s most potent military organization has labeled 18 major corporations as “terrorist spy companies” and designated them as “legitimate targets.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) named several American multinational firms in the technology and industrial sectors, such as Google, Apple, Intel, and Boeing, as allegedly participating in terrorist activities. According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, out of the 18 listed companies, only two are non-American and are owned by entities in the UAE.
A statement released on Tuesday afternoon warned employees of these companies to distance themselves from their workplaces immediately for their safety. The statement threatened the destruction of the companies’ facilities in retaliation for any terrorist acts in Iran, effective from 8 pm Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1st.
In a separate development, US President Donald Trump issued a warning of extensive damage to Iran’s energy resources and critical infrastructure, including desalination plants, if a resolution to end the conflict with Tehran is not achieved promptly.
Trump specifically mentioned Iran’s Kharg Island, suggesting that US forces could take control of it in an interview with the Financial Times published on the same day.
Furthermore, Trump stated that the US is engaged in negotiations with Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad-Bagher Qalibaf. However, Qalibaf, a former IRGC commander, refuted claims of talks with the US, alleging that discussions facilitated by Pakistan were merely a guise for American military deployments.
Meanwhile, the US and Israel initiated a fresh round of attacks on Iran. Tehran retaliated by targeting a crucial water and power facility in Kuwait, while Saudi Arabia and the UAE intercepted Iranian missile strikes.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in over 1,900 deaths in Iran due to US-Israeli assaults, with Lebanon reporting more than 1,200 casualties from Israeli attacks. Additionally, casualties include 19 individuals in Israel, 13 US military personnel, and several civilians in the Gulf region. The war has led to the displacement of millions of people in Iran and Lebanon.
