Police are conducting a second search for an escaped prisoner who fled from a hospital. The escapee, identified as Daniel Boakye, 21, managed to evade security and officers at Lewisham Hospital. This incident occurred shortly after Boakye went missing from the hospital while under the supervision of prison staff. He was apprehended in Thamesmead the following day and returned to HMP Feltham.
However, Boakye has once again eluded authorities, prompting a renewed appeal from the police urging the public not to approach him. Boakye, who was facing deportation to Ghana, was serving a six-year, five-month sentence for a series of cryptocurrency robberies totaling £115,000 in July 2023, alongside three accomplices.
A video circulating on social media allegedly shows Boakye boasting about his escape. The footage, reportedly filmed on a London bus, captures an individual making derogatory remarks towards the police. Despite similarities in attire between the person in the video and Boakye’s reported clothing during his escape, the identity of the individual in the video remains unconfirmed.
Described as black, of medium height and slim build with an unknown hairstyle, Boakye was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket. Authorities are actively searching for the 21-year-old, who absconded from Lewisham Hospital on Sunday, February 15. The Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Boakye’s escape, with the Directorate of Professional Standards overseeing the inquiry. Boakye, also known as Dsavv in the music industry, was a member of the rap group ‘OFB’ and had released popular tracks such as ‘Prince of the O’ and ‘Still Want More’. OFB, short for Original Farm Boys, originated from the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, North London.
