A 72-year-old masseur named Terence McBrien, residing in Alnwick, is facing 55 charges related to sexual offenses involving 14 women. The charges include one count of attempted rape, seven counts of sexual assault by penetration, 34 counts of sexual assault by touching, and 13 counts of voyeurism. McBrien is currently on bail and is scheduled to appear at Berwick Magistrates’ Court on March 19.
Detective Sergeant Michael Rainbow, from Northumbria Police leading the investigation, acknowledged that the nature and volume of the charges may cause concern and anxiety in the community.
