“Thrill-seekers stranded 33 feet in air as roller coaster malfunctions”

Date:

Visitors at a theme park found themselves stuck 33 feet above the ground when a roller coaster malfunctioned, leaving thrill-seekers stranded under the blazing sun. The incident occurred during the ride’s course, trapping 20 passengers and prompting a large-scale rescue effort.

Amid scorching temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius, guests were left stranded after the DC Rivals HyperCoaster at Warner Bros. Movie World in Australia experienced a breakdown. The roller coaster came to a sudden stop while ascending a steep incline just before the anticipated descent down a thrilling drop.

To address the situation, staff members from the park had to climb the hot metal structure and guide each passenger off the ride individually. The distressing event unfolded around 1 pm, with the rescue operation lasting over two hours, as riders patiently awaited their turn under umbrellas provided to shield them from the sun.

According to a spokesperson from Village Roadshow Theme Parks, the ride’s malfunction was triggered by a sensor error. They assured that all guests were safe and being escorted from secure locations on the ride. The park emphasized its commitment to guest safety, highlighting that such interruptions demonstrate the effectiveness of ride systems and operators in ensuring guest well-being.

The DC Rivals HyperCoaster, known for its speeds of up to 115 km/h (71 mph) and towering height of approximately 200 feet, is promoted as the tallest, longest, and fastest HyperCoaster in the Southern Hemisphere.
