Two individuals lost their lives in a collision involving a van and a car earlier today. The tragic incident claimed the lives of a man and a woman in their 40s, as confirmed by authorities on the scene. Emergency services swiftly responded to the crash site, where the occupants of the car, the man, and the woman, were pronounced dead.
A man in his 50s and a young male passenger in the van sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were rushed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment. The road in the Pickardstown area near Waterford, Republic of Ireland, was closed off as investigators attended to the scene of the fatal accident, according to reports from the Irish Mirror.
The emergency response was initiated on Tramore Road at Robin Hill at approximately 12pm on Saturday. Following the tragedy, the bodies of the deceased man and woman were transported to the same hospital for post-mortem examinations, while authorities notified the coroner.
