Tragic Collision Claims Two Lives on A3

Tragedy struck as a fatal collision claimed the lives of a seven-year-old girl and a 43-year-old woman following a devastating incident on the A3 in Hampshire.

The victims, both residents of Portsmouth, were fatally injured when the red Ford Fiesta they were traveling in veered off the A3 just south of the Hindhead Tunnel at approximately 10:00 am on Thursday. Authorities confirmed their deaths at the scene.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is actively seeking witnesses and any individuals in possession of dashcam footage to aid in the ongoing investigation. The closure of the southbound lane of the road lasted for several hours to facilitate the investigative process.

“At approximately 10:00 am on Thursday, emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision on the southbound carriageway of the A3 near the Hindhead Tunnel.

“Reportedly, a red Ford Fiesta left the road resulting in the tragic deaths of a 43-year-old woman and a seven-year-old girl, both residents of Portsmouth, at the scene.

“We appreciate the cooperation of motorists during the closure of the A3 southbound for several hours before its reopening.
