Two individuals, a man and a teenage boy, were discovered deceased inside a burnt-out vehicle after a tragic accident. The incident occurred on the A830 at Corpach near Fort William in the Highlands during the early hours of Saturday, prompting emergency services to respond to a car fire around 3 a.m. Fire crews managed to extinguish the flames and recover the bodies.
Although formal identification is pending, the families of a 16-year-old and a 44-year-old have been notified. Authorities suspect that the blue Vauxhall Astra was involved in a single-vehicle collision at approximately 1:45 a.m., leading to the closure of the A830 Fort William to Mallaig Road for over 12 hours.
Investigations into the collision are ongoing, with police urging individuals possessing CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to assist in determining the circumstances. Sergeant Calum MacAulay of Police Scotland expressed condolences to the victims’ families and emphasized the importance of gathering information to understand the event fully.
