A woman in her sixties was tragically discovered deceased in a wooded area while police and medical responders were on site.
Authorities cordoned off a secluded pathway in Poynton, Stockport, on Tuesday evening after the distressing finding. Emergency personnel reached the location just after 7pm in response to concerns about the woman’s well-being.
Numerous emergency units and police vehicles were stationed along Woodside Lane, where a footpath and wooded section were closed off. The Cheshire Constabulary stated that the death is currently not under suspicion, with preparations underway to compile a report for the coroner.
A spokesperson from the police force reported, “On Tuesday, February 24th, at 7:05 pm, paramedics alerted the police regarding a woman’s welfare on Woodside, Poynton.”
“Officers responded, and unfortunately, a woman in her sixties was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident is not deemed suspicious, and documentation is being readied for the coroner.”
