The live coverage of the incident concludes with the confirmation that the explosion was part of a planned filming for TV or movies. A resident shared a letter online indicating that the blast was a controlled pyrotechnic event scheduled for Thursday, April 16, between 6pm and 11pm behind Carl Hall Road.

Downsview Park officials clarified that the explosion was part of planned pyrotechnics. A warning issued to residents mentioned that during the week of April 13, loud noises, flashes of light, and smoke may be noticed in the area, emphasizing that the activity poses no threat to public safety.
