RAF Jets Deployed in Response to Russian Drone Attacks

An external report had previously mentioned that RAF fighter jets had taken down Russian drones over Ukraine, but the RAF has clarified that this information was incorrect and apologized for any confusion.

Following significant attacks by Russian forces on Ukrainian ports along the River Danube, RAF fighter jets were swiftly deployed.

Two Royal Air Force Eurofighters were launched from Borcea Air Base in Romania in response to the actions of Vladimir Putin’s military.

The RAF has verified that the aircraft were dispatched but did not engage any Russian assets or enter Ukrainian airspace before returning to base.

A statement from Bucharest indicated that Russian forces resumed drone strikes in Ukraine near the border with Romania, prompting the deployment of British Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from the 86th Air Base in Fetești.

The National Military Command Centre alerted the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations about the drone activity near Romanian airspace, leading to the dispatch of Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.

Reportedly, the Eurofighter Typhoon jets identified a target close to Reni, Ukraine, and were authorized to engage the drones, resulting in multiple explosions in the area.

In response to the attacks on the Odesa region near NATO territory, Romania strongly criticized the Putin regime for its actions.

The Ministry of National Defence condemned Russia’s actions as a threat to regional security and emphasized the importance of upholding international law to protect citizens and NATO’s collective security.

The incidents underscore Russia’s disregard for international norms and its impact on the security of Romania and NATO, prompting Romania to reaffirm its commitment to defending national airspace alongside allies.

In Poland, French fighters supported by Dutch armed forces under NATO scrambled in response to Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.

Russian strikes caused extensive damage in Dnipro, with casualties and reports of people trapped under debris, while other regions like Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, and Cherkasy were also targeted.

During a particularly intense assault, Russia launched numerous missiles and drones at Ukraine, with a substantial number being intercepted or neutralized by Ukrainian forces.

Ukrainian drones retaliated by striking deep into Russia, hitting cities like Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, causing damage and casualties.

In Yekaterinburg, a high-rise building was hit by Ukrainian drones, leading to evacuations and injuries, while in Chelyabinsk, reports indicated attacks on military installations and
