“Ghanaian Lover of British Widow Scammed of £1M Speaks Out”

Date:

After a British widow lost £1 million in a scam and died in a car crash, her Ghanaian lover has come forward to criticize her family. Janet Fordham, 69, was swindled by romance scammers, leaving her financially depleted. She traveled to Ghana to meet a man named Daniel ‘Kofi’ Agyapong, who claimed he could help her retrieve the stolen funds. Despite suspicions of foul play in her death, Agyapong defended their relationship, stating they were in love.

An inquest revealed that Fordham fell victim to fraudsters operating in multiple countries. Agyapong and Fordham were engaged, but tragically, Fordham passed away in a car accident while visiting Agyapong’s family. Agyapong insisted it was an accident and refuted claims of malicious intent, expressing his deep affection for Fordham.

Agyapong emphasized Fordham’s happiness in Ghana with him and their plans to marry. He lamented her loneliness in the UK and vowed to honor her memory. Agyapong detailed his efforts to recover Fordham’s money by involving the police to apprehend the scammers. He maintained his innocence, underscoring his genuine intentions to assist Fordham out of love.

Reports confirmed that Fordham’s death resulted from a head injury sustained in the car accident. The police found no evidence of foul play and attributed the tragedy to a road traffic accident. The High Commission in Accra was informed of the incident, and investigations concluded the death was a result of the unfortunate accident.
