“Armed Police Respond to Knife Incident Near Asda”

Armed police responded to an incident near an Asda store following reports of an aggressive male believed to be armed with a knife. The incident took place on Littlemoor Lane in Oldham, close to the supermarket, after a member of the public alerted authorities about the man’s threatening behavior.

Upon receiving the report, armed police were dispatched to the scene just before 1pm. Witnesses reported seeing what appeared to be a knife handle, prompting heightened security measures in the area.

Police vehicles and both armed and unarmed officers were observed at the scene, focusing their attention on a specific address along Littlemoor Lane. Despite the intense police presence, no arrests were made, and no weapons were confiscated during the operation.

According to a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police, the incident unfolded around 12:45 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, on Huddersfield Road in Oldham. The male suspect allegedly made verbal threats before fleeing the scene. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of now.
