“British Travelers Facing Disruptions in 10 Middle East Destinations”

Date:

The Foreign Office has issued updated travel guidance for British travelers heading to 10 destinations due to escalating conflicts in the Middle East.

Iranian drones have been deployed in response to military actions by the US and Israel, leading to widespread airspace closures and significant travel disruptions.

British nationals are advised to stay indoors and stay informed about the situation from local authorities if currently in the Middle East. The Foreign Office has recently revised travel advice for Thailand, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Israel, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

Travel disruptions, including flight delays and cancellations, have been reported in the region. Even travelers not heading to the Middle East may face travel complications.

The Foreign Office recommends essential travel only to the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Limited commercial travel options are available, and travelers are advised to depart if possible and stay updated on airline schedules and local guidelines.

In Saudi Arabia, travel is at the individual’s risk, with limited flights operating in and out of Qatar. British tourists are advised to leave if safe to do so. Borders in Israel and Palestine could close abruptly, and travelers are urged to check local advisories before attempting crossings.

For those considering leaving Kuwait, certain land border crossings into Saudi Arabia are open. Travelers are reminded to have necessary documents and stay up to date on entry requirements.

The Foreign Office advises against all travel to Israel and suggests following local authorities’ instructions if staying in the country. Shuttle services are available for certain travelers at the Taba border between Israel and Egypt.

Travel to Palestine is discouraged, and the Foreign Office continues to advise against all but essential travel to Jordan, especially near the border with Syria, due to regional conflicts.
