A man has passed away in an alley following a reported violent attack.
Law enforcement responded to Arthur Terrace in New Marske just after 8pm on Friday, March 6, after a man sustained severe injuries. Despite medical intervention, the man was declared deceased at the location slightly over an hour later.
Subsequently, a 37-year-old individual has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder, as reported by Teesside Live.

A representative from Cleveland Police stated: “Shortly after 8pm on Friday, March 6, emergency services were alerted to an alleyway between Dale Street and Arthur Terrace in New Marske, where they attended to an individual who had sustained severe injuries from what appears to be a violent attack.
“Regrettably, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene slightly over an hour later. The family of the deceased has been notified, and our sympathies are with them during this challenging period.
“In-depth investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death are ongoing, with formal identification of the victim to follow in due time.”
Officers from Cleveland Police are currently present at the scene, where a significant cordon has been established, and a blue forensic tent has been erected in the alley where the incident occurred. Visual evidence also depicts forensic markers laid out on the street, while specialized officers in white hazmat suits inspect the area.
Law enforcement confirmed the arrest of a 37-year-old suspect on suspicion of murder, who is being held in custody for questioning. Authorities believe the incident was targeted and poses no threat to the general public.
