“Snowfall Forecasted as Temperatures Plummet Nationwide”

Date:

The upcoming week may see snowfall in certain areas, with temperatures expected to drop significantly. Following a recent surge in temperatures, this week has commenced on a less favorable note. Tomorrow is projected to be cloudy with rain moving from the west to the east, accompanied by additional showers in western regions later in the evening. According to the Met Office, temperatures will decrease notably by Friday.

There is a possibility of snow on Friday, extending beyond just the hilly regions in the north. Jason Kelly, Chief Operational Meteorologist at the Met Office, mentioned a noticeable shift in wind direction towards a north-westerly flow, leading to a considerably colder day nationwide on Friday. This shift could bring sunny intervals, heavy showers, coastal gales, and potential snow on high ground. Lower hills might also experience snow accumulation, with a clearer outlook expected closer to the day.

Looking further ahead, the Met Office anticipates changeable conditions from March 13 to March 22 as weather systems from the Atlantic move across the UK. Rain or showers are likely, particularly in the western and north-western regions, with intermittent dry periods under high-pressure ridges. While temperatures are expected to be near-average, brief colder periods could bring frost and hill snow.

For the period from March 13 to 22, the Met Office forecast indicates variable weather with occasional rain or showers, more frequent in the west and northwest. Temperatures are likely to remain near-average, with intermittent colder spells bringing frost and hill snow. The BBC Weather forecast for March 16 to 22 suggests slightly cooler temperatures overall, with varying day-to-day weather patterns possibly leading to wintry showers over higher northern ground.
