Former US President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing his team to investigate allegations surrounding the romantic involvement of his recently dismissed immigration chief. Trump terminated the services of Department of Homeland Security leader Kirsti Noem, a staunch supporter of MAGA, in the wake of various controversies, including fatal incidents involving ICE officers. Following Noem’s ousting, Trump shifted focus towards her top advisor and purported secret partner, Corey Lewandowski.
Reports suggest that Trump sought information on whether the alleged lover, described as a “special government employee” to Noem, personally benefited from a substantial $200 million advertising campaign prominently featuring Noem’s image. The ad campaign has raised suspicions and is believed to have contributed to Noem’s departure from the DHS.
According to insider sources, the President repeatedly inquired about Lewandowski’s involvement in the campaign, indicating his interest in the matter. The scrutiny over the $200 million campaign intensified during congressional hearings before Trump removed Noem from her position. Trump expressed dissatisfaction over being uninformed about the campaign’s details despite Noem’s assertion that he had approved it.
Allegations surfaced that Trump grew wary of Lewandowski’s behind-the-scenes influence, as he served as a “special government employee” at the DHS and unofficially held a chief of staff role for Noem. Some agency personnel claimed that the alleged lover wielded more authority than justified by his position.
Noem, who is married to insurance agent Bryon Noem and has three children, faced questioning during a House Judiciary Committee session regarding her relationship with Lewandowski. While she dismissed the inquiries as baseless, she evaded directly addressing the affair allegations, which she previously denied in 2021.
Lewandowski vehemently denied any financial gain from the $200 million ad campaign in his statement to NBC News. The costly advertisements featured Noem at Mount Rushmore discussing illegal immigration and the American dream while on horseback. The ads were produced by Safe America Media under a no-bid contract worth $143 million, subcontracting with Strategy Group, led by Ben Yoho, who is married to Noem’s former assistant Tricia McLaughlin. Additionally, another firm, People Who Think, linked to Lewandowski, secured a $77 million contract for campaign services.
