A security guard at a hotel acted swiftly to rescue a British teenager who had been gang-raped by a group known as the “wolf pack,” leading to their subsequent arrest. The group, comprised of seven French men and one Swiss national, agreed to prison terms totaling over 73 years as part of a plea deal just before their trial was set to commence. Prior to their guilty plea, they faced the possibility of more than 150 years in jail if convicted.
The assault took place at the BH Mallorca Resort in Magaluf, where the perpetrators recorded the heinous crime, with some members inflicting physical abuse while others verbally encouraged the act. The recorded evidence played a crucial role in their apprehension and subsequent legal proceedings.
Upon discovering the distressed victim in the hotel lobby, the security guard promptly intervened, finding the teenager in a state of distress. Medical examinations revealed bruises on her arm and a chest laceration, likely a result of the assault. The convicted individuals were ordered to compensate the victim with over €100,000 (£86,313) as a form of restitution.
The perpetrators, some of whom were not familiar with each other prior to targeting the victim, engaged in a 30-minute gang rape, with some individuals recording the incident on their mobile phones. The footage was often shared to humiliate the victim, indicating a clear lack of consent on her part. The guilty parties were sentenced to varying prison terms for sexual offenses and privacy violations related to the recordings.
While some of the convicted men were granted bail, others remain incarcerated pending further legal proceedings. The victim did not need to testify in court beyond her initial statement to investigators.
