“Cat Owner’s Packages Lost in Courier Company’s Collapse”

Date:

A disgruntled customer revealed that her packages went missing for more than a week prior to the collapse of a courier company. Carol Leonard experienced delays with her orders, shedding light on the operational challenges faced by the struggling delivery service just before it went into liquidation. Pedal and Post, a courier partner of Evri, officially entered liquidation following the closure of its business in January. The company, based in Oxford and known for its eco-friendly cargo bike deliveries, had expanded its services to London.

Carol, a resident of Grandpont, Oxford, raised concerns after three of her deliveries vanished for over a week. She contacted the company about missing parcels that were supposed to be delivered to her home at the end of January. These packages contained essential items for her cat and were reportedly stuck at a depot instead of being delivered, as per Oxford Mail. The confusion escalated when the firm informed her that the parcels were out for delivery yet could not be located either at the depot or on the delivery route.

Carol detailed that it took over a week for three of her orders, placed on January 29 and 31, to reach her residence. The pet store, which utilized Evri for deliveries, eventually refunded her for the undelivered items.

Expressing frustration with the Evri system, Carol mentioned the difficulties she faced in reaching customer service for complaints due to the lack of contact numbers. Evri later apologized to Carol and sent her goods on February 10.

Other customers in the Oxford area also reported disruptions in deliveries around the time Pedal and Post ceased operations. Evri acknowledged the temporary disruptions caused by the closure of Pedal and Post, assuring customers of efforts to restore normal service. The collapse of Pedal and Post led to the loss of 60 jobs, with the company attributing its downfall to the loss of a significant client earlier in the year.

Christopher Benton, the firm’s Chief Executive and founder, expressed gratitude to those who supported Pedal and Post, emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainable and efficient cargo bike deliveries. Evri expressed disappointment over the sudden closure of their e-cargo bike partner in Oxford but assured customers of efforts to resume regular service promptly.
