Gary Glitter’s Health Deteriorating in Prison

Date:

Notorious music figure Gary Glitter, a convicted sex offender, is reportedly in deteriorating health conditions while serving time in HMP Channings Wood in Devon. At 81 years old, Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, is nearly completely deaf, wheelchair-bound, and is avoiding leaving his cell. He was returned to prison in March 2023 for violating his release conditions after being imprisoned in 2015 for sexual offenses against a minor.

According to sources, Glitter is ailing and his physical state is declining rapidly, with fellow inmates and prison staff speculating that he may not have much time left. Despite an unsuccessful parole appeal due to his lack of empathy towards victims, there are concerns that he may spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The source revealed that Glitter’s demeanor towards others in prison is perceived as arrogant, and he is generally unpopular among inmates. His recent appeal for release, which was denied by the Parole Board in 2025 due to his persistent interest in children, highlighted his troubling attitudes towards child abuse.

The Parole Board’s decision emphasized that Glitter still poses a risk to the public, citing his unresolved interest in pre-pubescent children and the need for him to undergo specific rehabilitation programs while in prison. This rejection follows a similar outcome in 2024, where psychological assessments underscored his dangerous inclinations towards young females and his supportive views on child sexual abuse.
