“Family Mourns Brave Officer Lost in Tragic Crash”

The family of a police officer who tragically lost his life in a car accident while responding to an urgent call expressed deep grief, stating that they feel shattered and may never fully recover.

Pc Bradley Corke, aged 27, was affectionately described by his family as a kind-hearted individual and one of the most remarkable young men the world has seen. The fatal collision occurred on Thursday in Farningham, near Swanley, Kent, when a marked Ford Focus police car and a Volkswagen Scirocco collided at the junction of Button Street on the westbound A20 London Road around 7:45 pm, according to Kent Police.

Pc Corke succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash on Saturday, while his colleague remains in critical condition and a civilian in the other vehicle received treatment for serious injuries. The officers were en route to an emergency situation in Swanley at the time of the incident.

In a poignant statement, Pc Corke’s family expressed their devastation at the loss of their beloved son, highlighting his outstanding character and dedication to his profession. They were deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from those who knew him. Pc Corke’s family emphasized his compassionate nature and the positive impact he had on everyone he encountered.

Tonbridge-based Pc Corke had joined the police force in May 2022 and had been serving the communities of west Kent. Neil Mennie, chairman of Kent Police Federation, conveyed the profound sorrow felt by the police community, emphasizing the close-knit bond among officers. He acknowledged the inherent risks faced by police officers and the ultimate sacrifices they may make in their commitment to public safety.
