A group of individuals violently entered a pub in Cornwall and initiated unprovoked attacks on patrons, resulting in multiple injuries.
The incident occurred at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston around 10:30 pm during the establishment’s weekly DJ event. Witnesses reported that several people sustained minor facial injuries when a group of approximately five individuals, who had been at the pub earlier, assaulted smokers outside for no apparent reason.
Upon notification, armed police were dispatched to the scene, followed by regular officers who interviewed witnesses. According to Cornwall Live, the disturbing events have been ongoing for several weeks, leading to multiple injuries.
An employee stated that the group attempted to forcibly enter the premises around 10 pm, with one individual wielding a belt to attack people. The gang caused damage to a back door while trying to gain unauthorized entry.
The staff member expressed concerns about the gang’s return on April 4, indicating fears of another potential disturbance. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed receiving reports of the assaults but stated that the suspects had fled by the time law enforcement arrived, prompting an ongoing investigation.
In an official statement, the police department disclosed that they were alerted at 10:25 pm on Friday, April 3, regarding the group’s attempt to access the licensed premises following an earlier altercation. The culprits had reportedly assaulted numerous individuals within the pub and caused door damage earlier in the evening.
Although officers responded promptly, the suspects had already departed from the scene. The authorities assured that inquiries into the incident are actively underway.
