“Microsoft Teams Faces Major Outage, Resolved Quickly”

Hundreds of Microsoft Teams users encountered difficulties with the platform this morning, particularly in accessing video and audio calls. According to Downdetector, a significant number of users experienced issues related to Microsoft Teams’ audio and video quality, as well as functionality problems with the app itself, with over 300 reports recorded earlier today. Fortunately, the problems have since been resolved, reducing the number of reported issues to 35.

Around 10 am, more than 300 users were grappling with these issues, which gradually began to subside by 10:40 am. Some users also faced challenges with Microsoft Teams’ online conferencing service. Presently, there is a decline in the number of reported issues, with 65 users encountering problems as of 10:50 am, mainly related to audio and video quality, along with app-related issues.

Downdetector data indicated that 359 people had reported issues shortly after 10 am, predominantly concerning audio quality. These audio-related reports accounted for 42% of the total, while 28% were related to app usability and 22% to video quality. The problems seem to have started around 9:30 am, affecting users across the UK.

An outage map revealed that the majority of reports originated from London and Manchester, with users in Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Sheffield, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, and Luton also experiencing difficulties. As of 10:30 am, at least 320 individuals had reported issues with Microsoft Teams this morning, as per Downdetector’s data.
