“Lockdown Lifted at Kensington Gardens After Security Scare”

Date:

Police have ended the lockdown at one of the UK’s Royal Parks after determining that there is no threat to the public. The incident unfolded in Kensington Gardens on Friday, prompted by the discovery of suspicious items near the Embassy of Israel, including jars containing a powdered substance.

Residents were advised to steer clear of the area as authorities investigated an online video suggesting a potential drone attack on the embassy using hazardous materials. The investigation involved armed officers, counter-terrorism units, and divers searching the vicinity for any potential threats.

The London Fire Brigade deployed specialized dogs trained to detect chemicals to assist in the investigation. Following the examination of the substances, authorities confirmed they were non-hazardous but emphasized that the inquiry is ongoing.

Commander Helen Flanagan from Counter Terrorism Policing London expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation during the operation. While assuring that the Embassy of Israel was unharmed, authorities continue to collaborate with security teams to ensure safety.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. In case of emergencies, individuals should call 999, or report online through the official government website.
