A young girl sustained serious injuries in a stabbing incident that took place during daylight hours. The 13-year-old victim was swiftly taken to the hospital following the attack around 4pm on April 17 near Wensley Road in Woodthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Her condition is reported as stable at present.
An adolescent boy, whose identity remains undisclosed due to legal requirements, has been apprehended and charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed weapon. He was scheduled to appear at Nottingham Youth Court on April 20.
Superintendent James Woolley, overseeing county law enforcement, stated, “Our officers are providing assistance to the victim and her family during this distressing event.”
“We acknowledge the impact such an incident can have on the local community,” Woolley added.
“We want to assure the public that we are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this assault.”
“We have taken into custody and pressed charges against a 14-year-old boy for attempted murder.”
