“X Factor” Star Accused of Attempted Murder

Date:

A former contestant from the X Factor talent show has been accused of attempted murder following a car incident that resulted in pedestrians being hit, with one woman now in critical condition.

According to the Metropolitan Police, a woman in her 30s is currently fighting for her life, while a man in his 50s sustained significant injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Westminster early on Sunday. Another woman in her 30s suffered minor injuries in the same incident.

Gabrielle Carrington, a 29-year-old individual from Manchester, has been formally charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and driving under the influence, as confirmed by the police.

Carrington previously achieved fame by reaching the live finals of the X Factor in 2013 as a member of the girl group Miss Dynamix. Following her time on the show, she transitioned into the world of social media influencing under the username RielleUK.

During her teenage years, Carrington had participated in the X Factor live finals as part of Miss Dynamix, a group assembled by Gary Barlow during the early stages of the 2013 season. The group was eliminated in Week 3 after performing ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ by Swedish House Mafia during the sing-off.

After the disbandment of Miss Dynamix in 2014, Carrington extended her career as an influencer, amassing a significant following of over 362,000 individuals on Instagram.

Recent posts on her ‘RielleUK’ profile showcase Carrington enjoying luxurious vacations to various destinations like Mexico, Jamaica, and France, indulging in dining experiences, and promoting her own line of haircare products.

Carrington’s most recent social media update, documenting her trip to Mykonos, was captioned with the phrase “Prettiest problem.”

The legal charges against Carrington stem from an incident outside a nightclub in Soho that led to the injury of three individuals. The collision occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Argyll Street on a Sunday, near the Inca nightclub, involving a vehicle striking pedestrians, including two women and a man in his 50s who was unlocking his e-scooter.

One of the women, aged in her 30s, remains in critical condition, while the man suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital. The other woman, also believed to be in her 30s, received treatment for less severe injuries.

Carrington has been formally charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and driving under the influence. She is currently in custody awaiting her initial court appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court scheduled for Tuesday.
