Prince William playfully suggested that artificial intelligence (AI) could potentially outperform human drivers while getting an insider’s look at Jaguar’s Formula E race car. The future King visited Jaguar TSC Racing’s headquarters in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, where he marveled at the technology and innovation driving the motorsport industry.

Standing tall at 6ft 3, Prince William sat in Jaguar’s I-TYPE 7 model on the same day as his youngest son’s birthday. He shared that his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were thrilled about his visit to the racing HQ and their enthusiasm for the sport.

Engaging with young professionals at the Oxfordshire facility, Prince William raised the prospect of technology potentially replacing human drivers in the future. He conversed with the team about the rapid advancements in technology and the evolving role of drivers in Formula E racing.

During his tour, Prince William explored Jaguar’s state-of-the-art technology, focusing on their sustainable practices and how these initiatives impact their consumer electric car offerings. Discussing the future of electric racing with Jack Lambert, the head of technical integration at Jaguar TCS Racing, Prince William inquired about the company’s long-term plans in electrification. Lambert highlighted their commitment to pushing boundaries with the upcoming GEN4 car and emphasized the unique feature of racing in urban areas due to low noise levels.
