Two individuals, a woman and a child, have tragically passed away after encountering difficulties in the water at a park located in west London. The incident took place at Elthorne Park in Ealing, and emergency services responded to the scene just before 4:30pm, where the mother and son were found and pronounced deceased.
Authorities, including the Metropolitan Police, are currently engaged in the process of notifying the next of kin of the deceased individuals, whose ages have not been disclosed. The police expressed gratitude towards the emergency responders and members of the public who rendered assistance during the challenging circumstances.
According to a police spokesperson, the authorities were alerted to the incident at 4:29pm after receiving reports of the individuals facing trouble in the water. Despite the immediate medical attention provided by the emergency services, both the woman and child could not be saved.
Detective Superintendent Pete Thackray of the Metropolitan Police’s West Area Command Unit conveyed condolences, describing the incident as a tragic loss for the woman and her young child. While investigations are ongoing, initial assessments suggest that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
