Following an extensive search for a missing woman, a body has been discovered in a wooded area.
Joanna Lewis, aged 59, disappeared from Tonbridge, Kent on April 29. Concern grew for her well-being after she went missing.
She was last sighted in the Colts Hill vicinity around 9am and was thought to have headed towards the nearby Tudeley woods.
As part of the search effort, authorities shared a photo of Joanna, describing her as 5ft 4in tall, slim, with shoulder-length brown hair.
Tragically, a woman’s body was found this morning in the woods near Half Moon Lane.
Kent Police confirmed that a woman’s body was discovered in the woodland and pronounced dead at the scene. The family of Ms. Lewis has been notified. The authorities stated that no foul play is suspected, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
The police mentioned, “A body has been found by officers searching for a missing woman from Tonbridge. The discovery took place in woodland near Half Moon Lane on the morning of May 1, 2026. The woman was found deceased at the scene.
“The family of the 59-year-old woman, last seen on April 29, 2026, has been informed. The incident is not considered suspicious, and a report will be forwarded to the coroner.”
