“£17M in Tesco Clubcard Vouchers Set to Expire Soon”

Date:

Tesco recently cautioned that £17 million worth of Clubcard vouchers are on the verge of expiration by the month’s end. The supermarket issues Clubcard vouchers every three months – in February, May, August, and November – and these vouchers remain valid for two years.

The upcoming expiring vouchers were initially distributed in May 2024 and will lose their value after 11.59 pm on May 31. Tesco customers earn Clubcard points for their purchases, such as getting one point for every £1 spent in stores or for every two liters of fuel bought at a Tesco forecourt.

Aside from in-store purchases, points can also be collected through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile. For instance, using a Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco earns five points for every £4 spent or one point for every £8 spent elsewhere.

Customers of Tesco Mobile accumulate one Clubcard point for every £1 spent on pay monthly bills or top-ups. To receive a Clubcard voucher, a minimum of 150 points is required, which translates to a £1.50 voucher redeemable in Tesco stores.

To maximize the value of Clubcard vouchers, they can be used with Rewards Partners like Pizza Express, Alton Towers, or Hotels.com, allowing customers to double or triple their voucher value.

For those looking to extend the validity of their vouchers, a simple trick involves using a voucher for a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards webpage, with the remaining balance credited back to the Clubcard account. Spending as little as 50p ensures the maximum amount is returned to the Clubcard account, with the new vouchers having a two-year expiration date.

Currently, Tesco boasts over 24 million Clubcard members. Shama Wilson, Tesco’s Group Membership and Loyalty Director, emphasized the opportunity to utilize Clubcard vouchers for discounts at partner restaurants, savings on various attractions, railcards, or hotel bookings to save money, especially during the half term period. Wilson encourages everyone to check their Clubcard accounts for any vouchers that need to be used promptly.
