The family of a man who tragically lost his life in a collision on the M5 in Gloucestershire has shared touching words in his memory. Joshua Bruton, aged 30, was affectionately described as a “gentle giant” with the ability to bring light into any room. He was pronounced deceased at the scene following a two-vehicle accident earlier this week.
In a poignant tribute, his family expressed their profound sorrow, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joshua Bruton, who was taken from us too soon in a motorway tragedy. Josh was an exceptional partner, father, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and friend – a true ‘gentle giant’ known for his boundless kindness.
“His innate positivity could uplift any environment, and his unique talent for offering immediate solace to those he cherished was unparalleled. Josh consistently prioritized the needs of others, demonstrating unwavering dedication and selflessness in all aspects of his life.
“His relentless work ethic was evident in every endeavor, whether in his professional commitments or his familial responsibilities, showcasing unmatched determination and passion.
“Above all, he was a devoted father to his two-year-old son, Caden, for whom he held the deepest affection. Their bond was truly remarkable and irreplaceable.
“The absence left by Josh’s departure is immeasurable, but we find solace in the multitude of lives he touched and the kindness he shared abundantly. While his loss is deeply felt by his family and numerous friends, his legacy of love and resilience will endure through his son eternally.”
The collision, involving a grey Luton van and a Volkswagen Transporter, occurred near junction 9 for Tewkesbury around 12:20 pm on Wednesday, May 6. Joshua, who was driving the van, tragically lost his life in the incident.
Authorities are actively investigating the crash and are urging any witnesses to come forward with information to assist in the inquiry.
