President Donald Trump was overheard admitting to feeling old after a conversation with one of his sons about nearing 80 years old, as per a lip reader.
The lip reader, Nicola Hickling, caught snippets of Trump’s dialogue while he observed the LIV Golf tournament at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, DC, from behind bulletproof glass, standing beside his son Eric Trump. The discussion topic seemed to revolve around Trump’s age, according to Hickling.
Although Trump did not specify which son initiated the conversation with Eric, he reportedly mentioned, “Yes, we were talking and he said, ‘Dad, you know you’re going to be 80 years old.’ After he said this, I felt old.”
The lip reader indicated that Trump followed up with the remark, “You’re only as old as you feel, right?” while playfully gesturing with his finger towards Eric.
During the same event, scrutiny arose online regarding Trump’s height when his son Eric appeared visibly taller than him at LIV Golf Virginia, as reported by the Mirror US.
Observant viewers questioned whether the US President’s actual height matched his officially listed height as they stood together behind the glass. Eric is reported to be slightly over 6ft 4in, while Trump is stated to be around 6ft 3in. However, in the footage, Trump appears notably shorter than his son and occasionally tilts his head upwards to meet Eric’s gaze.
Social media users were prompt in raising doubts about Trump’s height, with one user commenting: “Eric Trump: 6′ 4. Donald Trump: Definitely not 6′ 3.”
Another user humorously remarked, “Wow Eric grew like 6 inches overnight!!!” Trump received an enthusiastic reception from the audience at LIV Golf’s Virginia event, hosted at his Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.
The ongoing discussions in the golf community revolve around the future of LIV after reports emerged that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) plans to pull out its financial backing from the league post the 2026 season.
In response, LIV is actively seeking new investors to ensure the league’s sustainability. These developments coincide with Rory McIlroy expressing skepticism about the competitiveness of LIV players if they opt not to return to the PGA Tour.
