Reports indicate that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has conducted undisclosed military operations against Iran, potentially escalating the involvement of the Gulf nation in the ongoing conflict.
Equipped with advanced Western aircraft and surveillance technology, the UAE allegedly carried out an assault on Iran’s Lavan Island oil refinery.
Accusations have been exchanged between the UAE and Iran, with the UAE claiming Iran launched missiles and drones towards key locations like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah. Recent incidents have included significant fires at vital ports and storage facilities in Fujairah due to Iranian attacks.
The UAE’s defense systems have intercepted various threats, such as ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, during previous occurrences in March and April.
Notably, the UAE reportedly executed a covert strike on Iran’s Lavan Island refinery on April 8, causing significant damage. Although Iran labeled it as an “enemy attack,” no casualties were reported.
Following this incident, Iran retaliated by launching missiles and drones towards the UAE and Kuwait. The Iranian state media confirmed these actions, indicating a direct response to the attack on the Lavan Island oil facilities.
Tragically, the conflict has resulted in at least 10 fatalities and over 230 injuries in the UAE since its onset on February 28. Among the casualties are individuals from various countries, including Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, India, Egypt, and a Moroccan national serving in the UAE armed forces.
