“UK Weather Outlook: Up to 24C Forecasted in South-East England”

Date:

Weather models indicate that temperatures in certain regions of the country may reach up to 24C in the near future.

According to the latest forecast from the Met Office, the upcoming week is expected to be mostly gloomy, with temperatures unlikely to exceed 20C nationwide from Monday to Friday. However, the ECMWF weather model suggests a potential temperature increase in the following week, with highs of 23C anticipated in the south-east of England and around 20C in central England.

On May 22, temperatures could peak at 24C in the south-east, including London, while other southern regions might reach 22C and central England around 21C. By May 23, southern England could see highs of 23C and the Midlands around 21C. Northern Ireland and Scotland are likely to experience slightly cooler temperatures compared to England, but some areas near the Welsh border could reach approximately 20C.

Looking ahead to May 24, the ECMWF model predicts a significant warm spell with highs of 22C to 23C expected across a large part of England, stretching from the south coast up to Yorkshire. The forecast indicates that 35 counties in England and Wales may see temperatures of 20C or above during this period.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast suggests a trend towards warmer conditions towards the end of the month, following a period of cooler than average weather. From May 16 to May 25, the forecast describes changeable and unsettled weather patterns, with the likelihood of rain or showers, interspersed with drier periods. Initially cooler temperatures are expected to gradually rise, potentially reaching rather warm levels by the end of the period, especially in the southern regions.
