French President Emmanuel Macron reportedly received a slap from his wife following the discovery of text messages he had sent to a well-known actress. The incident, captured in a widely circulated video from last year, appeared to show Brigitte Macron striking the president just before the couple embarked on an official trip to Vietnam.
While initially described as a minor spat between a married couple by a close source to Macron, new revelations have emerged in a book by Paris Match magazine editor Florian Tardif. Tardif claims in his book ‘A (Nearly) Perfect Couple’ that Brigitte Macron found a message sent to actress Golshifteh Farahani, complimenting her beauty.
According to Tardif, more than 70 sources, including the French First Lady herself, have supported his findings. He revealed that Macron had a platonic relationship with the actress for several months, citing messages expressing admiration for her beauty as the root cause of escalating tensions that led to the public confrontation.
However, representatives of Brigitte Macron have refuted the claims, asserting that she never checks her husband’s phone. In a statement to Le Parisien, one representative stated that Brigitte had directly denied the account to the author, emphasizing that she does not monitor her husband’s mobile device.
