The upcoming bank holiday weekend is set to experience warm weather, with forecast models indicating a potential rise in temperatures up to 30C next week, according to the latest update from the Met Office. Southern areas could see highs of 28C on Friday, while northern regions may reach 25C, as high pressure is expected to usher in a period of fair and warm weather over the extended weekend.
The GFS weather model suggests temperatures reaching 27C in the south-east on bank holiday Monday and up to 26C in Yorkshire and parts of the north-west. Tuesday could see highs of 30C in London and 26C in East Anglia and southern England by evening.
Temperature anomaly maps show widespread areas of deep red across the UK next Monday, indicating temperatures well above the seasonal average. The GFS model predicts that 24 counties in England could experience temperatures of 25C or higher on Monday and Tuesday.
The Met Office anticipates that high pressure will dominate much of the UK next week, bringing fine and warm conditions across the country. While brief spells of rain may occur in northern regions due to low pressure, fair weather is expected to prevail, with temperatures above normal and light winds creating a very warm feel at times.
