“Harry and Meghan Celebrate 8th Anniversary with Sweet Family Moments”

Date:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle commemorated their eighth wedding anniversary yesterday, as Meghan shared 24 photos from their special day in 2018. Meghan later took to social media to show how their family was celebrating at home.

On her Instagram stories, Meghan captured Harry entering the kitchen of their Montecito residence with a cake resembling their wedding cake, complete with four lit candles. Together with their daughter Lilibet, they sang “Happy anniversary to Mama and Papa” to the tune of ‘Happy Birthday’.

In a heartfelt moment, Lilibet encouraged them to blow out the candles, leading to a sweet kiss shared by Harry and Meghan while their daughter cheered in the background.

Meghan then filmed as she unveiled the anniversary gift Harry had given her: a statue of two penguins supporting each other. She was visibly delighted by the gesture, while Harry chuckled in the background.

Beside the gift was a stack of paper featuring photos of Harry and Meghan dressed as penguins. Meghan explained to their children that when they got engaged, they had a party where everyone wore animal onesies, and they chose penguins as a symbol of their lifelong commitment.

The couple exchanged kisses and shared a moment of affection, with Harry also presenting Meghan with a card addressed to “the one and only”.

Meghan documented the day further by sharing a photo of them in penguin onesies, followed by another snapshot of them kissing over a lemon and elderflower cake in the kitchen. Handmade gifts from their children, Archie and Lilibet, were displayed along with a card addressed to ‘Mama and Papa’.

At the stroke of midnight in California, marking the start of their anniversary, Meghan posted 24 new pictures from their wedding day, divided into two posts reflecting the ceremony and the reception.

Accompanying the photos, Meghan captioned the post with “Eight years ago today” along with a sun and moon emoji, giving credit to photographer Chris Allerton. The images captured moments from their ceremony at Windsor Castle, showcasing intimate scenes and behind-the-scenes snapshots.

The collection depicted Harry and Meghan sharing quiet moments, official portraits, speeches, toasts, and a kiss in front of their loved ones. Additionally, Meghan shared 12 photos from their wedding evening, featuring their first dance and the exchange of affectionate moments.

Eight years ago, on May 19, 2018, Harry and Meghan tied the knot in a magical ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
