IRGC Warns of Broader Conflict if US Attacks Tehran

Date:

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has issued a warning that any US attacks on Tehran could spark a broader conflict in the Middle East. This statement follows President Donald Trump’s threat of further strikes on Iran unless a deal is reached soon to resolve the ongoing conflict.

The IRGC, known as Iran’s secretive military force, stated that if aggression against Iran persists, the promised regional war will escalate beyond the immediate area, delivering devastating blows that could be unimaginable. Despite facing attacks from powerful armies, Iran has not yet unleashed its full strategic capabilities.

Referring to the US and Israel’s armed forces, the IRGC emphasized that they have not fully utilized the Islamic Revolution’s potential in their responses. Trump warned that a new US attack on Iran could have significant consequences unless Tehran agrees to a lasting peace deal. The exchange of threats continued with US Vice President JD Vance cautioning against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, which could trigger a global arms race.

Vance emphasized the importance of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities, highlighting the degradation of Iran’s military strength by US forces in recent conflicts. He stressed the potential danger of a nuclear arms race if Iran were to possess such weapons, urging diplomatic efforts to avert this scenario.

Trump reiterated the possibility of renewed US attacks on Iran if the regime does not comply with his demands within a few days. Negotiations for a peace deal face challenges as Iran seeks to involve Lebanon and Hezbollah, while also considering alternative options for its enriched uranium, possibly involving Russia rather than the US.

Iran’s conditions for a settlement include halting attacks in Lebanon and Iran in exchange for concessions such as opening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting sanctions. However, the inclusion of Lebanon in any agreement remains a point of contention between the parties, with ongoing discussions facilitated by Pakistan as an intermediary.

Despite tensions and military preparations, Trump hinted at potential progress in talks, while regional allies urged caution and optimism that Iran could agree to terms preventing nuclear proliferation. Recent missile exchanges between Lebanese Hezbollah and Israeli forces have underscored the fragility of the ceasefire, highlighting the complexities of reaching a long-term peace agreement.
