South Yorkshire Police informed Kerry that they would no longer be actively investigating Ben’s case, transferring the responsibility to Greek authorities. The search for Ben, who went missing at the age of 21 months in 1991 on the island of Kos, has been a constant source of anguish for Kerry, who expressed her unwavering determination to uncover the truth about her son’s whereabouts.
The fundraising initiative aims to gather £10,000 to explore promising new leads indicating that Ben might have been abducted and unlawfully adopted in the early 1990s. Kerry emphasized the importance of delving into these leads meticulously by utilizing the funds for potential international travel, collaboration with legal professionals and investigators, and conducting essential DNA testing. She stressed the critical need for assistance from the public to continue the search for Ben, urging donations of any size and the sharing of Ben’s story to potentially unveil crucial information.
While South Yorkshire Police affirmed their readiness to assist Greek authorities if new evidence emerges, Kerry believes that her son could have been taken to the United States. She recently unveiled an age progression image of Ben, speculating that he might have been trafficked to the New York region. Kerry’s plea to the American public to scrutinize the image stems from her belief that Ben is more likely to be in the U.S. due to child trafficking activities.
Despite extensive efforts, including multiple excavations at the site where Ben was last seen, his whereabouts remain a mystery, marking one of the lengthiest missing person investigations in British history. While initial concerns suggested Ben may have been involved in a digger accident, exhaustive searches yielded no conclusive evidence.
