Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former President Donald Trump, was reportedly targeted by an alleged terrorist who had received training from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The individual in question, identified as Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, age 32, is believed to have acquired the blueprints of Ivanka Trump’s residence in Florida.
Al-Saadi allegedly expressed his intention to assassinate Ivanka Trump as a form of retaliation for the US drone strike that resulted in the death of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad in 2020. According to reports from the New York Post, Entifadh Qanbar, a former deputy military attaché at the Iraqi embassy in Washington, stated that Al-Saadi was vocal about his desire to target Ivanka Trump to seek vengeance against her father.
In a message posted online along with an image of the private island where Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner own a $24 million property, Al-Saadi warned that neither the luxurious residences nor the Secret Service protection would thwart their plans. He indicated ongoing surveillance and analysis activities, emphasizing that retribution was inevitable.
Al-Saadi was apprehended in Turkey on May 15 and subsequently extradited to the United States to face charges related to 18 attacks and attempted attacks across Europe and the US. The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has accused him of orchestrating assaults on American and Jewish targets, including incidents in Amsterdam, London, and Toronto.
Additionally, the DoJ has attributed to Al-Saadi the planning and execution of attacks against Jewish communities, such as bombings in Belgium and arson in the Netherlands. Reports also suggested that Al-Saadi possessed an Iraqi service passport at the time of his arrest, indicating potential high-level connections.
Al-Saadi, who was reportedly associated with the IRGC and Hezbollah, was en route to Russia when he was detained. He is currently being detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn pending further legal proceedings.
