The White House has released the results of Donald Trump’s recent health assessment following speculation about the US president’s well-being. Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, issued a summary of the president’s latest medical report, describing the 79-year-old as being in “excellent health” and “fully fit.” This report comes after Trump’s fourth publicly disclosed medical evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since his return to office, with the president set to turn 80 next month.
According to Barbabella, President Trump maintains excellent health with strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function. The report highlights Trump’s demanding daily schedule, which includes high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, all contributing to his well-being. Both cognitive and physical performance are reported as excellent, indicating his full capability to carry out his duties as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.
In a departure from the usual annual visit, Trump made two trips to Walter Reed in 2025, one of which was initially stated to be for an MRI but later revealed to be for a CT scan. The recent physical exam showed that Trump’s weight had increased to 238 pounds from 224 pounds noted in his April 2025 annual visit results.
Concerns about Trump’s health have included discussions about bruising on the back of his hands, attributed by the White House to frequent handshaking. The memo mentioned bruising on Trump’s hands as “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.” Additionally, Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30 in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a test commonly used to detect memory issues or cognitive impairment.
